You can supply your own timber. Envisage Furniture is able to work with timber supplied by you. We have made a number of pieces from timber supplied by our customers, from Redgum slab tables to Huon Pine sideboards. Rustic or reclaimed timbers can also be used.

Envisage Furniture has crafted many beautiful tables and buffets from pre used timbers such as Redgum, Victorian Ash, Oregon and Baltic Pine. Some of the stunning pieces of timbers we have created furniture from have a great deal of history behind them, including 150 year old wool mill boards, 100 year old hospital beams, farmers shearing shed posts that his great, great grandfather had once built. There is great sentimental value in using these timbers—creating beautiful solid timber pieces of furniture that your children and their children can enjoy for years to come. We encourage you to document the history of these pieces so that all will know the story behind your unique piece of furniture.

Our Design Process

The design process can work in a few different ways.

The most efficient is being able to talk to you in person. One of our team can sit down with you and design your piece of furniture based on the size and style you have in mind. Within our showroom, we have a range of beautiful furniture along with numerous photos of pieces we have created in the past. These can help you get those ideas flowing and it also shows what is possible.

We can work with your design. If you have your own design, we can work with them to create your special piece.

We can also use a design elimination process by showing you different looks on different aspects of a timber furniture piece. In this process we eliminate aspects you don't like and gather all the positive aspects you do like. For example, this table leg looks great but I would like this type of rail design to go with that top style. This process is quite effective and surprisingly time efficient because you know yourself better than anyone, and your first impressions are normally the best.

The last method consists of you collecting magazine cuttings, photos or designs you like even if it is only a small aspect of the overall piece. From these we can use a mix and match method to get the piece that is right for you.

Every piece made by the team at Envisage Furniture is created in their factory showroom that is located in Shepparton, Victoria, Australia. Any member of our seamless team would love to spend time with you, in showing you the processes of how each of our individual pieces of timber furniture is crafted from raw rough sawn materials through to the final product.

What timbers do you use?
We have hundreds of timbers that are available for us to use. Things to consider if you do not have a specific timber in mind include:
- What is the colour scheme of the room that the piece is going in?
- Is the area well lit? Dark timbers can enclose a room if there isn't adequate lighting.
- What types of grain do you like? For example, straight grains or swirling flowery grains.
Can you work with my designs?

We can work with your designs or we can sit down and design something just for you.
Can I supply my own timber?

Yes you can; however, we need to test the moisture content to ensure the timber has been seasoned and is stable before we can work with it.
What types of timber furniture do you make?
We pride ourselves on the knowledge that we are able to create beautiful pieces of furniture that can be made from any style or shape—from traditional pieces to modern artistic styles. Really, when it comes down to it, we can make just about anything you would like from timber. Some of the more unique requests we have had included:

What finish do you use on your furniture?
We use a two pack polyurethane in a satin gloss or matte zero finish for almost every piece we create. The three main benefits of this finish are:
- It has heat resistant qualities that enable you to put coffee cups or heated plates and bowls straight onto your furniture.
- The UV protection within the product helps prevent discolouration.
- This is one of the hardest finishes that can be applied to timber to date, thus helping to prevent scratches and dents.
